Well, this morning I got laid off from the financial services company I worked for for the last 14 1/2 years. No hard feelings on my side. I hope my getting RIF'd will "save" a colleague's job...
To look at the bright side of things --
o Now I can wear jeans every day, not just Fridays.
o I can take the kids to violin Monday nights without having to leave work early.
o I don't have to juggle ten different technology initiatives at the same time anymore.
o I can catch up on some movies and videos :-).
Seriously, I'm updating my resume. I plan to still go to a pre-arranged team lunch in Boston tomorrow. Can't pass up all-you-can-eat Indian buffet!
I leave behind some good people, good friends. I wish them all well...
