Roller coaster ride

Has it really been over four months since my last blog post? Wow... First a picture of the family taken around Christmas time.

We're taking the dog in for surgery this Good Friday to repair her torn ACL, a ligament in her left rear knee. Hopefully she recovers as well as Tom Brady did from his ACL/MCL surgery.

This past fall we adopted a kitten, born and raised at the Norwell Veterinary Hospital. Jayden picked him out and named him Marshall. He has been a delightful addition to our family -- loves to be picked up, loves people... But constantly wants to dominate our 3-year-old female cat, Bella. We thought once we got Marshall neutered his attempts at, um, mounting would cease. Nope. At least he bothers her less frequently now.


Debbie's been working many, many hours the past few months on a corporate litigation trial. She's done some direct and cross examinations and a closing. Lots of stress, lots of hours, but good experience. Colleagues tell her she's a natural trial lawyer. I'm very proud of her. Plus I'm glad someone's paying the mortgage --I like our house.


Jesse got accepted to the People to People student ambassador program. This July he and two dozen of his fellow student ambassadors will spend two weeks in Austria, Italy, France and Switzerland. Jesse continues to play violin in school and is first chair of the second violins in junior ensemble.

Jonah is doing great in school. Turns out he's quite the mathematician and speller! He is quite the little student. His New Year's Resolution was to get 100s on all his tests. He's not too far off... Jonah continues to enjoy the basketball clinic at the YMCA, though he's taking a break this term; he is a very good dribbler and has good form when shooting the ball. And he, too, continues with violin, having recently performed at two recitals.


Jayden loves all-day kindergarten.

She loves to chat and play with her friends. And she's learning how to read! She had her first sleepover with her Yangchun sister, Maureen, a month ago; and they're planning another one soon. Jayden remains the most self-confident little girl I've ever known. Taking a break from gymnastics, she's now taking swimming lessons at the Y. And she is under the constant tutelage of her brother, Master Jonah, in the arts of the Ninja and Jedi Knight.
